Who wants a cocktail?! I mean, who doesn’t love a good, well-mixed cocktail that just does what it’s supposed to do- make you happy. I should probably clarify that I am not referring to a “Carrie Bradshaw” Cosmopolitan; I am talking about a hair product cocktail! Now, in case anyone is unclear, a product cocktail is when you mix two or more of your favourite styling products together in a “cocktail” and use it in your hair.
For most of us, it’s a challenge to solve our natural curl problems with just one product. Curls encounter so many challenges like lack of shine, frizz, brittleness, dryness and the list goes on. However, this could be the time for a cocktail…or two! Cocktailing the right products together (this could take some trial and error on your part), is like multitasking for your hair. It’s possible to solve a few problems at once by mixing a couple of products together. The key to success is identifying what challenges you have with your curls and finding the proper products or “tools” to fix them.
One of our favourite cocktails is mixing together Curl Keeper Original and Curl Keeper Leave-In Conditioner. What we love about this powerful combo, is that it can work for any and every curl type– even yours! Those who have thicker, coarser curl patterns will benefit from full coverage of both the Curl Keeper Original to control frizz as well as the Curl Keeper Leave in to help maintain moisture. For those of us with looser curl patterns and finer hair, we can still use the Original from roots to end to get full frizz control but then use just a small amount of the Curl Keeper Leave in on our ends for protection. Both products are pH balanced to specifically work for curly hair and are water-based and really works well when you combine them. Finding the ratio of product to hair can be tricky but the good news is, with both products, there is no such thing as too much. So when in doubt, grab a Margarita and cocktail!
Check out this video (below) by Rodgerika Horton as she mixes Curl Keeper Original and Curl Keeper Leave in Conditioner to create a fantastic style. This particular cocktail of products allows her to conquer frizz and maintain hold and then balance it out by adding the perfect amount of moisture to her hair at the same time.
