2) Invest in the right tools. You need to have a brush that is gentle on your hair but effective in detangling.
3) Use the right techniques: start detangling from the ENDS of your hair and work your way UP to the root. Never the other way around.
4) Section your hair before detangling to make it easier and faster. Be sure that section is wet
5) Purchase a good detangler with no silicones or a leave-in that is lightweight.

2) Use styling techniques to elongate such as: braiding, twisting or banding your hair after you apply product on wet hair. Let it dry like this.
3) Keep your hair sectioned and twisted as long as possible. Only it take it out to shampoo/condition/rinse your hair then twist it back up. Likewise, when getting ready to style your hair, only undo one twisted section at a time while applying product to it. Then re-twist it as it allows time for drying.
