Winterize Your Curls

In the cold winter months it is common for curly hair to become dry and brittle. This is not caused by the actual weather outside but rather, it is caused by indoor heating. Indoor heating sucks the moisture out of everything it touches. From your hair to your skin to plants in your house, indoor heating has no boundaries. Efficient humidifiers will help return some moisture back into the air to quench the dying thirst. As curly hair is more porous than straight hair, it is more difficult to keep it moisturized in the winter. Increasing the moisture level in your hair is the difference between therapeutic and cosmetic hair care. While cosmetic products can patch the problem using silicones as a quick fix, therapeutic products using the right combination of pure ingredients without the interference of silicones will provide a much higher level of short and long term results. As time goes on your hair will keep improving with better hair days and easier styling. The protein molecule in all Curly Hair Solutions products that is essential for moisture is a very high quality grade with a tiny molecular weight. This allows for our products to penetrate deep into the hair. To maintain the right moisture level for your curls in the dry winter months, use Leave-In Conditioner to soften all rough, dry hair cuticles without ever leaving a film or coating. You can use a generous amount without the hair feeling greasy or sticky. It is a very popular product, especially during cold winter months with indoor heating. An important step in adding volume is not to wait too long before you start diffusing your curls. Bending over forward and hanging your hair over forward while squeezing your hair upwards will help tighten looser curls creating volume. Using a diffuser during this process will help speed up drying time without disturbing the curls. The more you play with the curls the bigger the hairstyle. Keep in mind  will control the frizz, do not be afraid to play or overwork your curls. If some frizz appears simply reactivate the Curl Keeper by running wet hands over the frizzy area. This will moisturize the air and you will see a noticeable improvement to your hair and skin.
